The third redemption for the town of Inuvik was the Western Arctic Regional Visitors Centre.

I love this map. It is the view of the world from Inuvik.

The interior is chock-a-block full of interesting animals (cariboo, muskox etc) and information about the various local indigenous peoples and their way of life.
The muskox is my favourite animal in all the world (next to Flossie of course)
Handsome fellow don't you think?
Take note: the following celebrations are not held at Inuvik, but south at Fort McPherson, where those Scottish Hudson Bay people obviously brought curling with them. Fort McPherson is everything that Inuvik is not, and this information posting in the Visitors Centre at Inuvik gives a small clue as to its major significance in the northern scheme of things.
