Leaving Camp 18, Flossie is ready to find that beach!

The next two shots were taken out the side window of the truck. It just shows the shoreline through the trees as we saw it.
At last, we reach the Nehalem Bay State campground at Manzanita. This is facing north towards Neahkahnie Mountain.
Below is facing south again. We are the second camp site on the right. Behind us on the right is a 30-50 foot high dune covered in beach grass and beach pine which are stunted as you can see in this photo. That dune separates us from the beach and protects us from the strong onshore winds. We are tucked in nice and cosy.
Our campsite. Rick had a bit of a struggle to get located so we could open the slides among the different pine branches. We have a direct trail behind us up and over the dunes to the beach. Lovely spot and when we booked, it was a cancellation in an otherwise full campground. We were very surprised how busy everything is, as one would normally expect the week after Labour Day (when the kiddies all go back to school) to be quiet. We were lucky to get this.
