PHOTOS

Shot through the streaky window of the Queen of Alberni as we are leaving Duke Point Ferry Terminal. Gabriola Island on the left. The smoke is coming from the Harmac Mill on Vancouver Island. We're steaming towards the ferry dock at Tsawwassen south of Vancouver. It is 7:45 AM on a cold and clear December morning

We leave the Nanaimo Harbour and turn to the right, cruising right past our home location. In this photo, we are passing the lighthouse at Entrance Island at the moment of sun rise, and that is Gabriola Island behind with the Flat Top Islands on the left side. We live about one inch to the right of the sun on Gabriola.

We have had this camper for 4 years. It is 13 years old. It was to be the camper we practised on to see how much we liked the life style. The plan was to sell it on and buy a newer, niceer one. As you can see, we still have it. This year we decided to do some major upgrades. Sick of the old dark phony oak cabinets, we decided to be brave and paint them all in a soft grey for the lowers with a soft

cream for the uppers. We like it a lot. In these photos of the interior you can see that in this "small" camper (yes, it is rated as small) we get a functional kitchen and dinette, a small bedroom area up the stairs to the front, and a comfy couch which is where I am sitting to take these photos. When we reach the beach in Mexico, we back the camper up to the sea wall right on the beach and have a three-sided view of the Sea of Cortes. A million$ view for just a few pesos. We think we're pretty smart :)

I comes with its own fridge-freezer too!

And  3 piece bath. Since almost all campgrounds come with hot showers, we have coverted the tub

to a storage area and a place to hand wash tems.

The bed isn't KIng size but it fits the 3 of us fine (Flossie in the middle of course). As you can see, Rick didn't get all of the dark oak painted out as you can see from this "before" photo. The rug is also going to be replaced wih something "fresher", although with Miss Flossie in the camper just how long will anything stay "fresh"??

This is going to home sweet home for the next 3 months.
